GSSD Updates

Girl Scout Hangouts:

Hosted by our Outdoor and Program professional staff, these hangout sessions are an opportunity for girls to connect in a relaxed environment with other girls at their program level. Use this online form to sign up your girl for her program age level session. These FREE hangouts areWednesdays at 4 p.m., and all are welcome! Register the members of your troop, and let us do the rest!

Badge Kits:

Each kit includes everything you need to earn Girl Scout badges from home, including hands-on activities, instructions, all required materials, AND the badge! Outdoor art and Space science kits are available via council for just $12 each for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. Grab a kit for each girl in your troop, set up a zoom, and you are fully prepared for a meeting (or two), and girls will have earned a badge.

National Service Projects

From educating communities about food production and selling Treasury Bonds during WWI and the Spanish flu pandemic to planting victory gardens and training in first aid during WWII, Girl Scouts have always stepped up in times of need, and our current COVID-19 crisis is no different. All across our country and world, Girl Scouts have leaped to others' aid by engaging in beautiful acts of service and kindness. Now your troop can get involved too!

New In-Person Guidelines

  • Red Tier Guidelines. As you know, we entered the Red Tier two weeks ago. New GSSD guidance is being published today, as promised. Here's a quick recap of changes based on newly-released county guidance:

  • New Resources. These are linked in the Safety Checkpoints for Hosting In-Person Meetings and Activities and are included on www.sdgirlscouts.org/stayingconnected. Don't see them?

    • Troop Camping and Cooking guidelines and tips

    • Hybrid meeting tips.

    • Vaccine FAQs.

    • Printable COVID Reminders Poster. One side has reminders for girls, and the other has simplified screening questions for leaders. Post in one of those acrylic picture frames?

Blended First Aid and CPR classes

Is your First Aid/CPR out of date? We've got you covered! Blended classes are being offered now and can be found on our EVENTS page. Important to note, the virtual portion must be completed before the in-person component.
